JAY-Z does two stadium nights at SoFi, My Chemical Romance plays the Bowl on the exact 20th anniversary of The Black Parade, and Aerosmith ends the week with an all-star return — plus Gorillaz twice, W.A.S.P. in the desert and Doja Cat in San Diego.

Clear your weekend and pace yourself, because this is the heaviest seven days of the fall. Friday alone stacks JAY-Z’s JAY-Z30 stadium show at SoFi against My Chemical Romance at the Hollywood Bowl — and Friday, October 23 is not just any Bowl night: it is exactly 20 years to the day since The Black Parade was released, and MCR are in the middle of a five-night Bowl run. Saturday, JAY-Z and MCR both do it again while Gorillaz hit the Kia Forum and Weezer bring The Shins and Silversun Pickups to Crypto.com Arena. There is no multi-day festival inside our four counties this week — the festivals take a breath — but Thursday more than makes up for it: California Dream On: Aerosmith & Friends closes the week at the Bowl, Aerosmith’s first shows since September 2023, with an all-star bill. In the desert, Agua Caliente bookends the week at The Show — 38 Special on Friday, W.A.S.P. with KK’s Priest on Thursday. Every show below was checked against the venue’s or promoter’s official listings (Ticketmaster, AXS, Live Nation, the venues themselves, or the artist’s official site). Orange County is not covered — this is LA, Riverside, San Bernardino and San Diego counties only.

Worth the drive: California Dream On: Aerosmith & Friends at the Hollywood Bowl on Thursday, October 29. Aerosmith retired from touring in 2024 and have not played a show since September 2023 — this is the return, and they are not doing it alone: The Black Crowes, RUN DMC, Heart, Billy Idol, Sammy Hagar, Eric Church, Slash and Duff McKagan, Tom Morello and more are on the bill, Guns N’ Roses have been added, and Don Was is music director. Wherever in SoCal you start from, this is the one night of the week that will not come around again. Runners-up: JAY-Z at SoFi on Friday or Saturday if you want the biggest room, and W.A.S.P. with KK’s Priest at The Show the same Thursday night if your drive points east instead of west.
