CelebNMusic247.com reports that Lee Daniels and Tom Donaghy co-created the series about three talented singers trying to navigate life’s challenges along with the cutthroat music business.

Well, the series is DONE as of this week. It will NOT be returning for one last season like ‘Empire.’

Deadline reported this week that the reign of Empire on Fox is coming to an end next year. Just two weeks after the Charlie Collier-run Fox Entertainment renewed Lee Daniels and Danny Strong’s hip hop drama for a sixth season.

The plan is to go out with a bang for Empire‘s last season, which will be 20 episodes, according to Collier.

Charlie said:

We are turning the final season into a large TV event — we are trying to go out guns a-blazing. You allow fans to lean in and have the ending they deserve.
