Weekly Wrap: Chief Keef Released Kanye Defends Jesus

Chief-Keef-free-out of-jail-1023-1

This week in music news, Kanye West has made many headlines for his new masks for the Yeezus tour and defending Jesus while Chicago rapper Chief Keel has been released from jail.

Topping our news is Chicago rapper, Chief Keef is a free man again after serving half of his stint behind bars. Keef walked himself in to Cook County Jail for failing a required drug test and was released from jail on Wednesday (Oct 23) morning.

Only 9 days into his ordered 20 day jail sentence.

Here’s the drop:

Keith Cozart, aka Chief Keef, walked out of the jail around 9 A.M. Wednesday morning. He had been in jail since Oct. 15, when he was ordered to jail for 20 days after testing positive for marijuana. Cozart received one day’s credit from the sentencing judge, while receiving another 10 days credit for good behavior. That means he was behind bars for only 9 out of the 20 days of his sentence.

Keef later took to his Instagram account to announce….”I’m Back Bitch”. Let’s just hope this release is permanent this time.

What were your thoughts on his last mixtape “Almighty So”?

Kanye West has found himself defending his White Jesus on the Yeezus tour

While rapper another Chicago native, Kanye West has had a HUGE week. On Monday he held a grand wedding proposal for Kim Kardashian, announced that he and Kim would be working on baby number two and is back on his Yeezus tour.

Like Drake the Yeezus tour has already had one cancellation, but now we are thinking that maybe it had something to do with the proposal, since the show was pushed back to Halloween.

However, Kanye West has raised some eyebrows or two on the since the first stop of the Yeezus tour by bringing a man out on stage dressed in robes who Kanye addressed as ‘White Jesus.’

Kim Kardashian’s fiance has an explanation though and he went on air telling Wild 94.9 in San Fransico his reason for the “white Jesus” on stage.

Ye reveals:

“I had a friend of mine that is a pastor and we were discussing how we were going to deliver it. My girl even asked afterwards “isn’t that weird if Jesus comes on stage or something like that?” No we do plays all the time where people play Jesus. What’s awesome about Christianity is that we are allowed to portray God. Wer’e allowed to draw an image of Him. We’re allowed to make movies about Him. Other religions you can’t do that. Michelangelo did it…It’s a painting, it’s a sculpture, it’s a moving opera, it’s a play, it’s a message. I’m not even going to do any comparisons with that. God knows where my heart is at.”

That’s not all with the Yeezus tour, Kanye West premiered 4 New Jeweled Masks

If you’re lucky enough to catch Kanye West during his “Yeezus Tour,” don’t expect to see the MC’s face for very long. For most of the 2-hour long set that he played on the tour’s opening night in Setalle, Yeezy went through a couple head-to-toe wardrobe changes, and in the process rocked a total of four masks.

The masked movement is clearly still on and he’s upgraded from those crazy crystal-studded Mason Martin Margiela and the “Kanyeti” joints he rocked last year. The rapper wore pieces that look like relics perfect for temple Yeezus. These decorative disguises were set with mirrored tiles, black studs, and shiny gems. We just hope these masks are well ventilated. It gets hot up there under all those lights, even when your pants rip open to give you a breeze.

We’re digging that Kanye puts so much effort into all the details of creating a true spectacle that will definitely be worth the price of admission. Did you see the damn Wes Lang collaborative merch being peddled? He is not playing around. So far, all indications point to the “Yeezus Tour” being an awesome display of showmanship we rarely see from male rappers these days—but most probably don’t have the same budget as Yeezy.

We suspect this to be only the beginning of a bunch of new looks for Ye, so expect to see more wild disguises as the tour goes along.
