One of the most incredible performance comes from The Mendenhall Experiment who gave an EXPLOSIVE performance at Aftershock.
We got to meet the guy of The Mendenhall Experiment and we had a great time chopping it up, but when we saw them play on stage we were blown away. Read on and see why…
CelebNMusic247.com got to talk to Brandon Mendenhall, the man behind The Mendenhall Experiment.
Brandon Mendenhall, who has ‘cerebral palsy’ from childhood dreamed of playing in a rock band, and he has done just that. The band name says it all, because The Mendenhall Experiment was exactly that.
Brandon learned how to play guitar because his left arm was completely paralyzed. It was a form of therapy, and it worked.
In 2008, Brandon formed his group and continued on his journey to fulfill his dream. We would like to say his destiny. He was a born talent, mind you, Mendenhall put in the work.
Brandon Mendenhall explains his road to success:
He told us “The Mendenhall Experiment is my literal experiment.” Brandon wasn’t sur if things would work or him and if his guitar therapy was the answer. His plan was to “move to Los Angeles, survive, write a batch of songs, form a band,” and become a rockstar that everyone knows.
If you haven’t seen The Mendenhall Experiment, then you are truly missing out. Brandon told us that he “taught himself how to play guitar despite having limited movement.” What is even cooler about the Mendenhall Experiment is that the band features A Perfect Circle alumni Danny Lohner and Munky from Korn. Who said you can’t takeover the world and have a disability?
Obviously, Brandon wasn’t hearing any of it, because he has drive, and that is what got him to this level.
Now he performs with his bandmates and tours around the world. Dope right? He is an inspiration to all of us.
What is cool about Brandon is that “nothing on his earth can hold him back from his dream,” this, according to Murky.
The Mendenhall Experiment played early on in the day and for those of you who caught them live lucked out. These guys will be huge, their music is awesome and they are really fun to joke around with and chop it up. Make sure to checkout our EXCLUSIVE interview with The Mendenhall Experiment…
