Kendrick Lamar understands that when opportunity calls you seize it by the balls!

Lamar talks about one of my personal favorite tracks of his Good Kid, Mad City debut album. He did just that on his first collaboration with Jay-Z, but there is an interesting story behind those gorgeous verses he laid down on the “B-tch, “Don’t Kill My Vibe” Remix.

Here’s the drop:

After hearing Jigga’s verse for the track Lamar went bananas do he gathered fragments of his jaw from the floor, he then spent an entire day crafting a verse worthy of the event record.

Kendrick explains:

“When I heard that thing he sent back I said to myself, ‘I can’t be no floozy on this mother—er for sure’,”

”All them years of being in the studio, all them years of writing, all them years of freestyling and just being a student of the game don’t mean sh– if I can’t live up to this track, at least by a little bit being beside a legend in it.”

What’s dope about the track is that Jay doesn’t sound like a miserable millionaire; he’s calm and confident.
