According to Dame Dash himself, he is on the brink of eviction and is in deep debt!
We don’t think it will be card board boxes for Damon, but the former Roc-A-Fella Records mogul could be kicked out of a rented mansion in Carmel, New York. The former hip hop mogul explains the he is “currently several months behind in paying my personal bills.”
At one time in his life he was riding alongside his former partner and platinum-selling rapper Jay-Z’s with Roc-A-Fella Records and the Rocawear clothing line, and once boasted in a magazine interview that he ruled a $50 million empire.
Well it seems someone wasn’t paying attention when Hov split and moved his money into making money and not living it up. You wonder where his old friend Jay is during this time of need?
Here’s the drop via The NY Daily News:
Hip-hop mogul Damon Dash is so deeply in debt that he claims in court documents he faces imminent eviction from a rented mansion in suburban Carmel, N.Y.
Dash wrote Tuesday in the 5-page filing:
“I am currently several months behind in paying my personal bills.”
“For instance, I am currently over $100,000 behind in rent for the only home in which I live and at risk of being evicted.”
Remember, Dash already lost a pair of multimillion-dollar Tribeca lofts to foreclosure in 2010, with $7.3 million left on the massive mortgages.
Dash also owes over $4 million in state taxes and owes federal tax money, as well.
We wish him good luck and hopefully he has a stash in the Bahamas or something smart like that.
