Dune Part Three Posters Tease Epic Finale

Blood on Alia, scars on Paul, blond menace from Scytale — the final Dune Part Three posters land a day before the last trailer.

Look at the faces first, because Warner Bros. clearly wants you to. The new Dune Part Three character posters, reported by ComingSoon on October 26 via DiscussingFilm’s post on X, are not heroic one-sheets — they are damage reports. And they arrive with a date attached: the film’s final trailer is released today, October 27.

Five faces, one collapsing empire

Per ComingSoon, Timothée Chalamet‘s Paul Atreides stares out with a striking blue eye and a face carrying injuries — an emperor seventeen years into a reign that is eating him. Zendaya‘s Chani is caught in an emotional moment, which tracks with everything Dune Messiah promises her. Anya Taylor-Joy‘s Alia Atreides gets the poster’s hardest image: face covered with blood, mid-scream. Jason Momoa‘s Hayt — Duncan Idaho returned as a resurrected ghola — holds a weapon against a sunlit backdrop, and Robert Pattinson‘s Scytale, the shape-shifting villain leading a covert Bene Tleilax scheme against House Atreides, makes his franchise debut with blond hair. Every poster carries the same words, per ComingSoon: “The Epic Conclusion,” with the release date and the IMAX logo.

A Messiah story, not a victory lap

The film adapts Frank Herbert’s Dune Messiah and picks up nearly two decades after Paul seized the Imperium. Warner Bros.’ official description, quoted by ComingSoon, calls him “a ruthless emperor” who “must face the consequences of his reign as old allies return, terrifying new threats emerge, and betrayal lurks in every shadow,” with the Paul–Chani relationship — and rebellion — at the story’s heart. That is a very different sell from Dune (2021) and Dune: Part Two (2024), which could still market wonder and ascension. Part Three is marketing consequence.

Denis Villeneuve directs from a screenplay he co-wrote with Brian K. Vaughan, per ComingSoon, with an ensemble that also includes Florence Pugh, Rebecca Ferguson, Javier Bardem, Josh Brolin, Charlotte Rampling and Isaach de Bankolé. It is Villeneuve’s farewell to Arrakis, closing a trilogy that began as the riskiest bet in modern sci-fi — a famously “unfilmable” novel, split in two, released into a pandemic — and became the genre’s defining big-screen epic.

December 18 is a heavyweight fight

One more fact gives these posters their charge: Dune: Part Three releases December 18, per ComingSoon — the same day as Avengers: Doomsday. Two franchises, one date, and IMAX screens that cannot be in two places at once. Warner Bros. dropping its final trailer seven weeks out, on the very morning Marvel’s own campaign is dominating the conversation, reads less like coincidence than like a studio planting a flag: the epic conclusion intends to be the prestige half of that collision.

The 247 Take — The posters sell a tragedy wearing a blockbuster’s budget, and that honesty is the campaign’s strength. If Part Three keeps Part Two’s craft and Messiah’s nerve, December 18 will not be a fight — it will be a double feature for the ages.
