Bobby Shmurda Wants To Leave Epic Records!!!

These days the hip hop game is tough business when new artists are dealing with labels and like many before him, Bobby Shmurda Wants To Leave Epic Records now.

These days loyalty between artists and their labels are limited, especially when you’re new and now Bobby Shmurda wants out like many before him. Since his arrest last December, accredited to charges of gang relation, murder, and drug charges, a bail of 2 million dollars have been lingering over the Brooklyn rapper’s head, which is why most labels would wash their hands on Shmurda.

While, fellow artists, fans, and Shmurda himself, are wondering when Epic Records will come to his rescue.

“When I got locked up, I thought they were going to come for me,” he told The New York Times from the Manhattan Detention Complex, “but they never came.”

The “Hot Nigga” craze back in June led to a seven-figure, multi-album deal with Epic for the 20-year-old. In addition to financial support, the record deal sold promises and dreams of a new freedom within the realm of music, creating an opportunity for the GS9 rapper to emancipate himself from the East Flatbush life that he narrates in his hit song.

“They told me they were going to help me make myself a star in the business for a decade,” he said.

Bobby still has not been convicted of any crimes, but the rejoicing sounds of his label rescuing Bobby on their shoulders has not yet been written in fairytale script. According to The Times, the rapper is now a reflective and aware thinker, and is reluctant of his record deal. He is now eyeing a different route.

“I’m going to try my best to go back on the deal,” he said. “If not, I’ll give them their music and bounce.”

This always goes back to Diddy’s statement a few years back when he said you can take the rapper out of the hood but you can’t get the hood out of the rapper. Some make it and some don’t because they can’t leave the streets alone to advance themselves and their career.
