The Best Man Holiday had such an impressive box office in its opening weekend taking the number one spot and knocking out Thor moviegoers may have another sequel coming.

Praised the The Best Man Holiday for bring back a talented star-studded cast to the big screen and putting African American‘s in a successful and positive light. There was no street violence, no gang banging and no slavery!  Hollywood needs to know that America loves all movies, all races and have great quality films like The Best Man Holiday is NEEDED on the big screen.

Let’s be real, but African American deserve to have a lane in Hollywood, because there is an audience out there and with last week’s box office numbers, we think the film’s producer/director/screenwriter Malcolm D. Lee proved his worth to be in the forefront.

With Tyler Perry paving the road again, Malcolm D. Lee has his own following and Universal should cut him a franchise deal and movie development deal for African-American films.

Why?

One main factor is that Malcom’s film, The Best Man Holiday tells a great story of friendship, love, and honor and these days the theaters are missing that and being over saturated with superhero’, Hunger Games, and 50 Shades of Grey franchises. Plus moviegoers have praised the film, even giving it a high Cinema Score of an A+, so it makes sense to have another sequel.

Here’s the drop:

According to Deadline, the film’s producer/director/screenwriter Malcolm D. Lee is alreadyin talks with Universal Pictures to start working on the next installment.

Lee is actually in the process of negotiating a deal with Universal to make another sequel, and it’s all because of the huge success the movie is having in its opening weekend.

It’s also being said that it won’t take 14 years to make the next sequel, and it’s still up in the air when it comes to who will return cast wise.

As we recently reported, “The Best Man Holiday” beat out the studio’s expectations and brought in $30.6 million in its first weekend at the box office.
