Soul singer-songwriter Erykah Badu decided to put NYC rapper Papoose on blast for a track from his just released album Nacirema Dream.
Erykah explains how old the song is and how she sang on the decade old song “Cure,” schooling underground rapper Papoose.
She tweeted.
“This papoose song Cure. I sang those vocals 10 years ago. That’s 2 babies ago.Sheeeit. So mcs just throwing out old material- no paperwork..”
“I they already have the cure by now.”
Papoose fired back, but in a complimentary tone.
“No paperwork? False our people are dying from aids/cancer are u not happy 2 create awareness? u sounded REMARKABLE #timeless.”
