Wendy Wiliams Hosting Soul Train Music Awards

It’s official, Wendy Wiliams Hosting Soul Train Music Awards, Don’s son Tony Cornelius and Dionne Warwick announce Wendy as the new host Monday.

You might say it’s the least watched award show of all the award show, but hopefully Wendy Williams will amp up viewership. The announcement was made on her talk show today as she had the first ever Soul Train host and creator Dionne Warwick and Don Cornelius son Tony help ring in the news. The awards show, to be held on Nov. 7 at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, honors R&B and soul music‘s newest stars and most legendary names. The show promises to “engage fans with unforgettable performances, iconic tributes and special appearances by today’s leading musicians.” Williams’ role comes just one year after her successful run as the host of the 2013 red carpet show, according to the press release. Centric said:

“No stranger to entertaining, Williams brings her signature charm and quick wit.”

This will be Williams’ first time hosting an awards show. Calling her the “queen of daytime talk,” Centric assured that this year’s show will be “one for the books.” The talk show host expressed her absolute excitement on Monday:

“As a longtime lover of R&B and Hip Hop, I am beyond excited to host this year’s Soul Train Awards on Centric,” she said. “It is an honor to be a part of the biggest night in music and highlight the achievements of both legends and rising talent.”

She added:

“Vegas, how you doin’?”
