Roseanne Barr Accepted Settlement; While Offers Pour In

ABC recently announced they were officially moving forward with a ‘Roseanne’ spinoff called ‘The Conners’, which has many asking how did they get Barr to relinquish her rights to the series and characters?

Roseanne Barr revealed she accepted a settlement for a ‘Roseanne’ spinoff, despite ‘not asking’ for a payout. Read on…

CelebNMusic247.com can also report that John Goodman, Laurie Metcalf, Sara Gilbert, Lecy Goranson, and Michael Fishman will all be returning for the spinoff show.

We have also received word that additional cast to be announced at a later date, along with an official premiere.

Rosanne Bar stated:

I didn’t ask to be paid off. I asked for nothing, and I just stepped away… because that is penance. I put a lot of thought into it.

She followed with another undying admission of regret stating:

I regret the circumstances that have caused me to be removed from ‘Roseanne’. I agreed to the settlement in order that 200 jobs of beloved cast and crew could be saved, and I wish the best for everyone involved.

No details in regards to that settlement have been officially revealed, but we imagine a substantial amount of money changed

Meanwhile, The Hollywood Reporter revealed:

Roseanne has had “many” offers to return to TV, though she hasn’t pulled the trigger on any of them yet. During an appearance on Rabbi Shmuley Boteach’s podcast, Roseanne said:

I’ve already been offered so many things and I almost already accepted one really good offer to go back on TV and I might do it. But we’ll see.

Thoughts?

Do you think it was smart for Roseanne to relinquish her rights?
