Lady Gaga gets highly criticized after her performance on the Simon Cowell-produced X Factor UK after a slew of complaints to both the broadcaster and the British media watchdog.com.

On Sunday night (Oct 27), the singer-songwriter appeared on the results edition, cavorting on the stage sporting flesh-colored underwear and a bra complete with removable white seashell caps, while singing “Do What U Want” and “Venus” from her upcoming album.

The singer told presenter Dermot O’Leary after her energetic performance that she had chosen the songs and her routine to remind viewers that she “just wants to entertain.”

Here’s the drop via THR:

According to a report in The Guardian, around 200 viewers complained to media regulator Ofcom about the “explicit” nature of the performance that aired before the 9 p.m. watershed, the time on British television when adult themes can go out without breaking rules.

Another 60 or so complaints went straight to the show’s broadcaster, the commercial network ITV.

An ITV spokesperson told the network’s website: “We do not believe Lady Gaga’s performance was inappropriate for the family audience of the X Factor results show.”

All eyes are now on Ofcom to see if it decides to launch a formal investigation into Gaga’s antics.

The X Factor has found itself in hot water with viewers recently after 10 seasons on air, with turns by Rihanna and Christina Aguilera sparking myriad viewer complaints.

But in both cases, the dance routines for Rihanna and Aguilera were given the OK by Ofcom, with the media regulator ruling neither had breached broadcasting rules despite being “at the limit” of acceptability for a pre-watershed broadcast.
