Friday the 13th Pushed Back To 2017!!!

Sorry campers, Paramount Pictures’ has been doing some revamping and now we’re hearing Friday the 13th Pushed Back To 2017 since they’re looking for new writers.

What’s Crystal Lake without Mrs Voorhees son, Jason?

CelebNMusic247.com has learned via Bloody Disgusting that the good news is that Friday the 13th is still on the schedule, as opposed to being dropped off completely, but it does mean potential changes to the development core.

There hasn’t been a clear report on why Paramount Pictures’ decided to go another direction, but here is what we do know. Paramount is taking fresh pitches from writers, which means that they’re probably moving away from “Hannibal” screenwriter Nick Antosca’s take that he was developing with David Bruckner, via Bloody Disgusting.

BD also told us that Friday the 13th fans should adjust their calendars from May 13th 2016 to January 13, 2017. And for the love of God, pray that Sony shifts their adaptation of Stephen King‘s The Dark Tower, which is also scheduled for that date (one of them is going to have to budge).

Here are some facts why Paramount decided to have Friday the 13th Pushed Back To 2017!

The last we heard, Antosca turned in his draft back in July.

We heard that Antosca wanted to lose the 1980’s time period, which was the most exciting direction the new film was headed.

Back in February, Brad Fuller of Platinum Dunes talked about his hopes for expanding Jason’s mythos and also taking the franchise back to summer camp.

Originally Paramount were to force a modern-day sequel, but it would be great to see Jason Voorhees back at a fully functional Camp Crystal Lake.

David Bruckner was an exciting choice as director and we’re praying that he’s still attached.
