The music industry has been devastate by the  shocking loss of one of Hip Hop’s pioneers, Chris Lightly. Lightly was part of the group Jungle Brothers and from there he worked with Russell Simons to create the Violator brand.

He was one of Hip Hop’s diamond’s in the rough, and now his good friend 50 Cent is speak out about the death of his longtime manager and friend, Chris Lightly.  50 Cent took time to issue a statement via his publicist.

50 statement reads as follows:

“I am deeply saddened by the loss of my dear friend and business partner Chris Lighty.

“Chris has been an important part of my business and personal growth for a decade.”

50 added:

“He was a good friend and adviser who helped me develop as an artist and businessman. My prayers are with his family. He will be greatly missed.”

Chris is credited with brokering 50’s deal with Vitamin Water that eventually led to the rapper’s $100M+ payday.
