Talib Kweli Wife, DJ Eque, Files For Divorce; Talib Responds!

CelebnMusc247.com reports that Talib Kweli’s wife Cynthia Greene aka DJ Eque has filed for divorce.

According to reports, Cynthia Greene filed the document in Los Angeles Superior Court Friday, Feb. 19th.

Talib Kweli and his soon-to-be ex-wife Cynthia Greene do not share any minor children, so it is questionable if she will petition for monthly support or if they had a prenup in place.

They first married at a Bel-Air mansion in May 2009. The reason for her filing isn’t publicly known.

Talib Kweli was banned from Twitter in August 2020 after a controversial encounter with a woman about colorism after she said he was one of the many rappers who married a light-skinned woman.

In the crossfire of their internet conflict, it was revealed that Talib Kweli and DJ Eque had separated after years of Talib Kweli’s alleged cheating.

Although he doesn’t cover any specific details, Kweli does indicate that he has not been with his ex-wife for quite some time. Apparently, they haven’t lived together in the same home for at least six years.

Talib responds with a statement:

Eque and I have been separated since 2015. We haven’t lived in the same house or even seen each other since 2015.

Kweli and Greene got hitched back in May 2009. A year later, the couple got kicked out of a club in New York City after they got into a nasty fight. According to sources close to Greene, the rapper’s ex-wife reportedly got angry when she allegedly saw Kweli get too comfy during a conversation with another woman.
