CelebNMusic247.com reports that 5th Ward Weebie, born Jerome Cosey, has passed away from complications due to high blood pressure.
Members of the New Orleans music community are grieving and tributes are flooding in after Bounce music legend 5th Ward Weebie passed away.
The 42-year-old rapper went into the hospital for heart surgery to treat a ruptured aorta.
Unfortunately, 5th Ward Weebie did not survive the operation and he died during the procedure.
New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell said in a statement:
5th Ward Weebie was a driving force in New Orleans’ Bounce music scene, producing such hits as “Get Out The Way” & “Let Me Find Out” Most recently he performed at our Black & Gold Pep Rally in the lobby of City Hall! pic.twitter.com/ov2XT67OrC
