The pop star’s fourth album is an intimate, dance-floor-ready letter, and fans are ranking every track.

Pop lane, and nobody is working it quite like Troye Sivan right now. The Australian star’s fourth studio album, She’s the Best, is out, and Sivan is cheerfully raising the stakes on his own catalog: he described the video for FF as his “gayest music video” yet — “Like this is GAY gay,” he told Pitchfork — which is exactly the kind of unfiltered rollout quote that tells you an artist knows precisely what record he made.
Billboard’s track-by-track ranking describes the album as an intimate letter bringing together dance music, queerness and sex across its 12 tracks, and that framing fits Sivan’s whole arc. He has spent a decade refining a very specific pop skill: making songs that feel like whispered confessions and still work at full volume in a room full of people. She’s the Best, by early critical accounts, is that balance pushed further — private feelings, public beats.
The release anchored a stacked New Music Friday, per Billboard’s guide, alongside Remi Wolf, Slayyyter and Pitbull — a lineup that accidentally maps modern pop’s whole personality disorder, from art-pop to chaos-pop to Mr. Worldwide. Sivan’s lane in that mix is the confessional one, and it is the lane currently setting the aesthetic terms for half the genre.
There is a business point under the glitter, too. Sivan’s audience is famously loyal and famously online, and an album rollout built on quotable honesty — no focus-grouped mystery, just “this is the gayest thing I’ve made” — is perfectly engineered for the fandom economy he helped pioneer as a YouTuber-turned-pop-star.
Rank the tracks however you like; every fanbase will. The headline is simpler: Troye Sivan made the exact album he wanted to make, said so in the exact words he wanted to use, and pop is more fun when that happens.
