Now, BottleRock Napa 2021 was sold out for all three days totaling 120,000 festivalgoers, which breaks down to 40,000 people per day. The festival did a great job on COVID safety precautions.

For example, all staff, food servers, media, photographers and anyone working at the festival had to be vaccinated. As for festivalgoers BottleRock organizers required all ticket holders to produce either proof of vaccination against COVID-19 or a negative test for the virus within three days of attending any daily session.

CelebnMusic247.com was there and we wore our N95s all day long inside and outside since hardly anyone wore masks at the festival. The reason why? Face masks are recommended but not required for outdoor areas of the Napa Valley Expo during the BottleRock festival.

Personally, BottleRock organizers NEED to require vaccination cards for everyone for 2022. Especially, since Jimmy Eat World drummer Zach Lind announced last night that he has tested positive with COVID-19.

Zach Lind took to social media to announce his disappointment testing positive:

Unfortunately, I tested positive for Covid and a few days ago. I have no idea how I caught it but it happened when I was up in NorCal for Bottlerock. The good news is I’m vaxxed so my symptoms have been very mild. The best news is so far no one in the band and crew are positive.

He went on to say:

My biggest regret is that I came home and unknowingly exposed my family.

My advice to other touring musicians especially with kids in school: schedule a PCR test for the day you come home and self isolate in a hotel until you get a negative test result.

Lind concluded with this:

I know that sounds like overkill but the last thing you want to do is make those who you live with “household contacts” because it will be a MASSIVE disruption for everyone!

Our advice…wear a mask all day and make sure to social distance. There is still a lot of anti-vaxxed out there with fake vaccination cards.

BottleRock reported a 96% vaccination ratio, but how many of those cards were fake. We heard plenty of people coughing up a storm in the crowd.

This still leaves the question, is it too soon to have music festivals?
