Rapper Ja Rule was released from prison today, but instead has to be transferred into federal custody for a tax case.
Here’s the drop:
He has time remaining on a 28-month tax evasion sentence that was to run concurrently with the sentence he was given for gun charges. But he could be a free man in less than six months.
Ja reportedly owes $1.1 million in back taxes.
Defense attorney Stacey Richman, said:
“Many people are looking forward to experiencing his talent again.”
“He’s a devoted father.”
Since he’s been in prison, he has had two misbehavior reports for unauthorized phone calls, work assignments on lawn and ground crews, and he has participated in education programs.
