The news from last year has come full circle and now Halloween is getting a reboot, because we need a horror film that everyone has seen a 1000 times over remade. Just like Friday the 13th and Halloween, the studio is reboot the movies that exploded a genre.

Sorry Jamie Lee Curtis, Halloween is Getting A Reboot

CelebNMovies247.com is cool with this, but we’ve seen Michael Myers slash his way through Haddonfield, Illinois teenagers since the 80s, 100 times over.

How will this movie be any differ from the original, because you can’t make Michael Myers anymore real than he already has been?

David Gordon Green and Danny McBride will be writing and directing the new Halloween movie with John Carpenter serving as executive producer and consultant on the project.

With John Carpenter on board we feel that the film could be awesome. If they make another terrible Rob Zombie version of Halloween it’s going to make us sick. One thing that frustrates us is directors who don’t pay attention to detail and continuity.

We hope that David Gordon Green and Danny McBride can find a way to breath new life into a very stereo-typical slasher film rehashed over and over. Even Jamie Lee Curtis wanted it ti finally end. There are so many possibilities to write a new horror killer, but it seems the studio just want to rehash the same iconic ones repeatedly.

John Carpenter said he is “going to help to try to make the 10th sequel the scariest of them all.” And today, he made the announcement.

John Carpenter announced the project on Facebook:

“So you say you want a Revolution?

You want to shake things up and bring back Halloween and make it rock again?

Well so do I!

So here’s the announcement you’ve all been waiting for:

David Gordon Green and Danny McBride are joining the project to complete the creative team. David and Danny will write the script together and David will direct. I will continue in my executive producer role to consult and offer my advice and feedback as needed. David and Danny both came to my office recently with Jason Blum and shared their vision for the new movie and…WOW. They get it. I think you’re gonna dig it. They blew me away. I might even do the music. Maybe. It could be kind of cool.”

Here is a bonus why it might not suck. Danny McBribe, who is appearing in Alien: Covenant, has not been creatively involved in horror movies. Although, he’s apparently a lifelong horror film fanatic

No offence, but Blumhouse is so talented why do we NEED a remake of Halloween?

Jason Blum thinks they can finally create a new sequel worthy of the Halloween name that fans will love:

“‘Halloween’ is one of those milestone films that inspired everyone at our company to get into the world of scary movies. The great Malek Akkad and John Carpenter have a special place in the hearts of all genre fans and we are so excited that Miramax brought us together. We cannot wait to find and collaborate with the right filmmaker to give ‘Halloween’ fans the movie they deserve.”

David Gordon Green’s Halloween slashes into theaters on October 19th, 2018.
