Congrats to Eva and Ryan!

We are shocked to hear the news since the notoriously private couple will be adding to their brood in the coming months, which means baby makes four!

In September 2014, Mendes gave birth to her first child with Goseling, who have yet to marry. Eva and Ryan welcomed a baby girl named Esmeralda Amada Gosling—when the actress was 40-years-old.

It appears they’re coupling like Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell, who never married, but have been together for more than 20 years. It obviously worked for them, so if it works for Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes, we say go for it.

The exciting baby news (both No. 1 and 2) means Mendes joins the ranks of leading ladies who’ve given birth in their forties.

Mariah Carey, Tina Fey, Julianne Moore and many, many more began their families after their thirties. Don’t believe it?

That is empowering that these women had babies over 40. It should be inspiring for women who are in their 30s and have yet to have a child.
