The GMA scandal’s two wronged spouses found each other in the wreckage. Three years later, they’re getting married — a month after their exes did. Andrew Shue engaged Marilee Fiebig after three years together.

Hollywood’s most unlikely love story just got its happy ending. Andrew Shue and Marilee Fiebig — the ex-spouses of Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes — are engaged.
Shue confirmed the news to People in an interview published Wednesday, Oct. 21: the couple got engaged this past spring, after three years together. “We’re very grateful and hopeful,” the Melrose Place alum, 59, said. “I don’t know how it happened, but there’s a happy ending.”

The timing writes its own headline. The announcement lands one month after Robach and Holmes quietly married on Sept. 19 — their marriage license was recorded Oct. 13 in Washington County, Arkansas — so both couples from the most famous workplace scandal in morning-TV history are now headed down the aisle, just not with the people they started with.
The backstory needs no embellishment. In November 2022, Robach and Holmes, then co-anchors on GMA3, were photographed together while both were still married to other people. Both couples were separated by then, and both marriages ended in divorce in 2023 — Robach and Shue’s finalized that March, Holmes and Fiebig’s that October. Robach and Holmes were taken off the air and exited ABC News in January 2023, later maintaining they were “outed, not caught.”
Shue and Fiebig, meanwhile, leaned on each other. The friendship that formed while both were processing the same public humiliation turned romantic in 2023, and Shue is candid about what it took to get here. “I had to accept my own part in marriage not working out for me and in not understanding myself well enough and not understanding what matters in a relationship well enough to find the right person for me — and that has been an extraordinary gift,” he told People. “I had to grow through a lot of pain and a lot of struggle and a lot of humility. I think the magic of love is when you go from a need to giving.”
He described meeting Fiebig, 48, an immigration attorney, as “this kind of freak luck” — “getting to know each other and being able to share ourselves with each other in a time where we both needed a friend.” Both are parents: Shue has three sons from his first marriage; Fiebig shares a 13-year-old daughter, Sabine, with Holmes. These days Shue is devoted to The Forum, the civic-engagement nonprofit he launched in January.
No wedding date has been announced. Page Six reported it reached out to Robach and Holmes’ representatives for comment.
Andrew Shue Engaged: The 247 Take
The 247 Take — Every scandal produces two stories: the one that gets the documentary and the one that actually heals. Robach and Holmes got the headlines, the podcast and the quiet Arkansas wedding. Shue and Fiebig got something rarer — a second act built out of the exact wreckage that ended their first ones, with nobody’s spouse stolen and nobody’s career torched. “There’s a happy ending” may be the least dramatic quote of the year, and that’s precisely why it lands. The exes won the peace.
