Dwayne Johnson Workout For Hercules

The Rock aka Dwayne Johnson talks about his upcoming film Hercules and the Epic Fitness Diet TeamHercules that helped his transformation into  a DemiGod, son of Zeuz for fitness fans.

When you think perfection male bodies, the first man who comes to mind for great bodies is the Rock aka Dwayne Johnson.

Johnson explains his workout resident that help to Chisel his body into incredible shape, CelebNMusic247.com has learned.

Dwayne is a beast when it comes to weight lifting and fitness life style commitment.  The Fast and Furious 7 star is also, in my opinion, a great actor and probably underestimated by most people. Johnson is gonna be in the big screen again and this time as Hercules, the son of Zeus.

Johnson explains:

“I trained and worked harder than ever for 8 months for this role. Lived alone and locked myself away (like a moody 260lb monk) in Budapest for 6 months while filming. Goal was to completely transform into this character. Disappear in the role. Press journalist asked me today, with the mental & physical toll the role had on me, would I do it again? Not only would I do it again.. I’d do it f*cking twice.”

Dwayne worked out 6 to 7 days per week for about 6 months for the Hercules role.  He prefers to workout early in the morning like 4 AM. His workouts started off every morning with 50 minutes of cardio, usually on the treadmill, followed by heavy lifting of one specific muscle group per day.  The only muscle group that he worked out twice per week was legs.  Dwayne didn’t share much of the specifics of his workout but this is what I gathered:

For upper body: isolate each muscle, meaning only workout one muscle group per day, and do 4 sets of 12 reps for 6 different exercises.  You want to lift heavy but also want to be able to perform 12 reps with perfect form.

For lower body: you want to train twice per week.  For each exercise do 4 sets of 20 to 25 reps and again for about 6 different exercises. With lower body you notice that the number of reps increases so this means you want to lift a moderate weight in order to be able to do the full set.

Based on his Instagram and Tweeter his workout schedule is:

Monday (Body Part: Chest and abs)
Tuesday (Body Part: Legs)
Wednesday (Body part: Arms and Abs)
Thursday (Body Part: Back and Abs)
Friday (Body Part: Shoulders and Abs)
Saturday (Body Part: Leg Day)

This is exactly the way I make my schedule as well, it just change the sequence. Remember to always start with 50 minutes of cardio.

Hercules hits theaters on July 25, 2014
