2014 started off the New Year without The Fresh Prince of Bel Air‘s father, James Avery, better known as Uncle Phil. He died right before the New Year.
We sadly, had to say goodbye to one of TV‘s most beloved TV star, but Will Smith was out of the country with Tyrese in Dubai when Avery passed.

As we recently reported, James Avery, better known as ‘Uncle Phil,’ passed away last week due to complications he suffered after recent open-heart surgery. Many celebs have publicly announced their condolences about the star’s death, but everyone was wondering ‘where is Will’?
Will Smith has finally spoken out about losing his former costar and TV uncle. The movie star took to his Facebook page to express his grief.
He posted a photo of the for Fresh Prince Of Bel Air cast looking all grown up, which was the last photo they took together, with the caption:
“Some of my greatest lessons in Acting, Living and being a respectable human being came through James Avery. Every young man needs an Uncle
Phil. Rest in Peace”
We’re still sad about the sudden lost. Rest in peace James Avery!
