Steve-O Sentenced To Jail!!!

Yes it’s true, reality TV star Steve-O Sentenced To Jail for 30 days following the dangerous stunt where he climbed a crane with an inflatable whale!

Steve-O has been very verbal about his dislike of SeaWorld and how they cruel to the Orca’s. It’s been the controversy this week since SeaWorld just announced that they want to expand the Orca tanks to give the whale’s a better habitat that is not only bigger but more like being out in the open waters.

PETA has been protesting SeaWorld decision with actress Pamela Anderson in the forefront leading their people against Sea World’s newest plans for expansion. For years everyone complained that SeaWorld’s Whale tanks were NOT big enough, but now that the company has plans to expand PETA is jumping in saying they want the Whales freed.

Are they stupid? Some of the Orca’s were born in captivity and have no clue what its like to be in open water and feed themselves. They would end up dying!

PETA really NEEDS to think twice about their protest. They need to go worry about fur or animal testing or something because right now they are sounding just as stupid as Steve-O’s recent stunt that has landed him behind bars where he should be.

See the LA Times reports that PETA has been in an uproar against The marine-based theme park company, who has proposed a project to replace its existing 1.7 million-gallon tank holding facility with a new 450,000-gallon pool and a 5.2-million gallon tank to hold 11 killer whales.

SeaWorld says the larger tanks will give the whales more space to swim and also create new opportunities for research.

The vote, which is in Long Beach, has been delayed since August to give commission staff more time to “ensure that all viewpoints and relevant information are addressed in any final recommendation,” a spokeswoman said at the time.

The Coastal Commission, which has jurisdiction over construction along the state’s shoreline, said it has received 50,000 letters and 200,000 emails about the expansion plan. SeaWorld has been under fire since the release of the 2013 documentary “Blackfish,” which accused the park of abusing its orcas.

The star pleaded no contest to the charges filed against him, which included trespassing and illegal use of fireworks. The star was also sentenced to three-year probation and ordered to reimburse the city nearly $14,000 for its emergency response!

Steve-O took to Instagram yesterday to release this statement:

“I just got sentenced to 30 days in LA County jail, and this is what I have to say about it: “Considering I’ve become a clean and sober, dog-rescuing vegan, I must say I’m ready to go to jail– not just because it will bring so much attention to the plight of orcas in captivity, but because it’s nice to let people know I haven’t lost my edge. What can I say, I’m a jackass. My whole crane-climbing, fireworks debacle really turned out to be pretty meaningful in the end, too. I mean, if your goal is to make a statement about captivity, you may as well get yourself locked up! To help give back to the City of Los Angeles, I launched a campaign today to raise money for at-risk, inner city youth, by raffling off chances to win an all-expenses-paid trip to be my red carpet, VIP guest at the taping of my Showtime comedy special next month, which is called “Steve-O: Guilty As Charged”.
