Justin Bieber’s personal plane was detained at Teterboro airport Friday afternoon under suspicion it was carrying marijuana, law enforcement sources told Page Six.
The pop star – who had chartered a jet for his dad and entourage of friends – was on his way to Super Bowl pre-parties, according to TMZ.
The plane had just arrived when authorities detected what was described as a strong odor of pot.
The plane was ordered held until drug-sniffing dogs could check it out. It was not clear if Bieber was on what was described as his personal aircraft.
The incident comes after Toronto authorities decided to charge the 19-year-old Bieber with assault on Wednesday.
He is already facing a driving under the influence case in Miami and remains under investigation for felony vandalism in California.
