A new biography, 17 canceled interviews and one very old dynamic — did a Paris Hilton no-show just reopen the Kim Kardashian feud?

Seventeen cancellations will test any author’s patience — and, per a new interview, they may have tested Kim Kardashian‘s patience too. Journalist Jonathan Van Meter told The Hollywood Reporter, in an interview published Friday and reported by Page Six, that Paris Hilton did not participate in his new Kardashian biography, “Citizen Kim,” which is out Oct. 27.
Van Meter’s account is specific. He said Kim told him Paris had agreed to take part, but that he had to go through her publicist to make it happen — a step he described as unusual, because Kim “just sent a text” to everyone else he needed. The interview was then canceled 17 times over about four months, per Van Meter, and never landed.
The Creation Turning on the Creator
Van Meter did not treat the miss as a simple scheduling problem. He said Kim “was so mad” about it, per the interview reported by Page Six, and that the episode stirred “some ancient irritation between them.” His most quoted framing was pointed: “the creation turning on the creator” — a nod to the well-known origin story in which Kardashian first entered public life working in Hilton’s orbit before building an empire that eclipsed it.
That history is exactly why a biography snub lands differently here than it would with any other potential interviewee. Hilton is not a peripheral name in a Kardashian biography; she is part of the prologue. A missing Hilton voice leaves a visible gap in “Citizen Kim,” and Van Meter’s frustration, as he tells it, was shared by his subject.

The Other Side Pushes Back
Not so fast, says the counter-account. A source told Page Six it is NOT true that Kim is mad, and that the two are involved in each other’s upcoming projects and support each other. That is a direct contradiction of Van Meter’s characterization, and it deserves equal weight: one is the author’s interpretation of events he experienced, the other is a source close to the situation telling Page Six the relationship is fine.
Page Six also reached out to both Kardashian’s and Hilton’s representatives for comment, per its report. Until either woman speaks on the record herself, readers are left with two competing versions — a biographer describing ancient irritation reignited, and a source insisting there is nothing to reignite. Both can even hold a piece of the truth: a frustrating four months of scheduling can be real without a friendship actually breaking over it.
What is not in dispute is the book itself. “Citizen Kim” arrives Oct. 27, with or without a Hilton interview inside it, and this pre-publication friction has arguably done what a polite sit-down never could — put the oldest relationship in Kardashian lore back at the center of the conversation a week before launch.
The 247 Take — Believe the cancellations, question the feud. Seventeen reschedules is a great story for a book tour; whether it cracked a two-decade bond is something only Kim and Paris can actually confirm.
