Eliminated last week, the Summer House star used the official DWTS podcast to ask, gently and clearly, why seven years on TV got edited down to one painful year.

Ciara Miller did not go on Dancing With the Stars to relive Summer House. She went to dance — and the Ciara Miller DWTS betrayal edit, which reduced seven years of TV to one painful year, is exactly what she is talking about now.
Per Reality Blurb and Reality Tea, both reporting October 16 on her appearance on the official DWTS podcast after her elimination last week, Ciara said the show put too much emphasis on her Summer House drama. The drama in question is painful and, by now, well known to Bravo viewers: per both outlets, her former flame West Wilson revealed he was dating her good friend Amanda Batula, it had happened behind Ciara’s back, and when Ciara asked Amanda if the rumors were true, Amanda denied them.
Ciara, 30, framed her frustration in years, not headlines. Per Reality Blurb, she said she has spent almost seven years on reality TV, starting at 24 and now at 30, growing up on camera through some essential years — and that she is so much more than what happened in this past year, which she called a betrayal of friendship. It is a fair point delivered without a tantrum, which somehow makes it land harder. Seven years is a whole adult era. One betrayal, however awful, is not a biography.
She also named what she wished had gotten more airtime. Per Reality Tea, she said that in her sphere she is trying to pave the way for girls who look like her, aside from the scandal, and she wished that had been mentioned more. Read that twice. She was not asking for a softer edit or a sympathy vote. She was asking for the part of her story that could actually help someone watching at home.
Ciara Miller DWTS betrayal: seven years, not one
Her partner Brandon Armstrong backed her up. Per both Reality Blurb and Reality Tea, Brandon said he would love for people to understand the depth Ciara possesses, and that she deserves better out of the process because of her character. Dance partners see the rehearsal-room version — the work ethic, the bad days, the bounce-back — so when a pro says the package pieces missed the person, it is worth listening.
The point that will outlast the elimination
None of this came out bitter, and that matters for how we file it. On Instagram after her elimination, per Reality Blurb, Ciara said it was not the outcome she wanted but there was nothing she could do about it, thanked fans for riding so hard for her this past week and this year, and said she was grateful she was paired with Brandon. Per Reality Tea, she called herself thankful for the wild and crazy ride and reflected on a journey this year that she sometimes does not fully understand, but is choosing to surrender to.
The Recapper’s take, with real affection: Ciara is doing the hardest move in reality TV, which is separating what happened to you from who you are, in public, while the show that introduced you keeps reintroducing the wound. The Mirrorball is gone for this season. The point she made on that podcast will outlast the elimination — especially for the girls she mentioned, who deserved to hear that part on the main show, not just the aftershow.
