The bracket is headed back to Flavortown for the holidays — and the first night of fights is set.

Some shows give you a yule log; Guy Fieri gives you a bracket with knives. Per Reality Tea, Food Network is bringing back the holiday edition of Fieri’s hit series Tournament of Champions for a second season: Guy Fieri’s Tournament of Champions: All-Star Christmas returns Wednesday, November 5 at 8pm ET/PT on Food Network, and streams the next day on HBO Max and discovery+. Sixteen chefs — eight teams of two — will face off in the arena across the run.

What the bracket looks like

The format keeps Tournament of Champions’ signature chaos machine: the Randomizer, which decides proteins, produce, equipment, cooking style and time, so no team can simply cook its greatest hit. The difference is the calendar — and, reportedly, the emotional temperature, with holiday family cooking colliding with the franchise’s most competitive room. Santa has visited this franchise before: Reality Tea’s coverage of the first season last year (“All-Star Christmas delivers a blockbuster gift: 32 Chefs!”) marked the event as a ratings and fan favorite.

The named chair side matters too: prior specials have featured judges including Marcus Samuelsson, Rachel Ray and Scott Conant — named in Reality Tea’s coverage of the tournament’s lineups — and the Christmas edition leans on the same bench strength.

Why this show keeps winning

Most food competitions manufacture stakes with casting. Tournament of Champions manufactures them with structure: single elimination, a blind judging panel that does not know whose dish is whose, and a machine that can order a fine-dining champion to cook a holiday classic with a convenience-store protein. A Christmas run doubles the natural audience — casual holiday viewers join the bracket diehards — and November 5 puts Fieri’s arena at the front of Food Network’s holiday slate.

The 247 Take — Fieri has quietly built the most honest format in food TV, and All-Star Christmas is its victory lap: no sob stories, no villain edits, just the Randomizer humbling excellent chefs on a holiday deadline. Teams of two is the underrated twist — TOC is usually a solo sport, and watching elite egos negotiate a shared plate under a clock is where the Christmas special stops being a special and starts being the main event. Set the DVR for November 5; the bracket does not care that it is the holidays.
