Zendaya Coleman Quits Aaliyah Biopic
Since Aaliyah’s family has successfully BLOCKED Lifetime’s One in A Million biopic, the Disney star Zendaya Coleman pulled out the project shelved.
Since Lifetime announced that they were pushing forward with the Aaliyah biopic the family has been in an uproar demanding that film goes to the big screen and NOT a made for TV film. CelebNMusic247.com has learned that the family has BLOCKED the film and now Disney actress Zendaya Coleman has officially pulled out of the project and Lifetime has announced that the film is on hold. How did the family do it? Basically, Aaliyah’s family wasn’t supportive of the movie and wouldn’t sign over rights to use any of the singer’s music, so now the network confirms that the entire project has now been put on hold.
We got the inside track on the Aaliyah biopic according to The New York Post who is reporting that the Disney star Zendaya Coleman isn’t “one in a million” anymore.
Coleman’s controversial casting in a Lifetime biopic about Aaliyah, the Grammy-nominated R&B singer whose life was tragically cut short when her plane crashed over the Bahamas in 2001, is over.
“We are sad Zendaya will no longer portray Aaliyah. Production is currently on hold,” Lifetime tweeted Sunday.
