Fashion Police co-host Giuliana Rancic put her foot in her mouth with her back-handed and insulting racist comment about the young actress Zendaya. Zendaya, who looked lovely on the Oscar red carpet was bashed by Rancic when she made a nasty comment about her dreadlocks.
Zendaya, 18, has bravely decided to stand up for herself, her family members, and many of her mentors after Giuliana Rancic, 40, claimed that Zendaya’s dreadlocks must smell like “weed and pachuli.” The former Shake It Up actress is blasting the E! host for her comments, and drawing attention to the “harsh” criticism of African American hair.
Zendaya Responded To Giuliana Rancic’s ‘Racist’ Comments SLAMMING her on Twitter:
“There is a fine line between what is funny and disrespectful. Someone said something about my hair at the Oscars that left me in awe.
Not because I was relishing in rave outfit reviews, but because I was hit with ignorant slurs and pure disrespect.”

Shortly after being put on BLAST by the young actress, Rancic swallowed her words and apologized.
Giuliana writes:
“To say that an 18 year old young woman with locs must smell of patchouli oil or ‘weed’ is not only a large stereotype but outrageously offensive. I don’t usually feel the need to respond to negative things but certain remarks cannot go unchecked.”
Then Zendaya put Giuliana in her place, like she should have, saying:
“I’ll have you know my father, brother, best childhood friend, and little cousins all have locs.”
“There is already harsh criticism of African American hair in society without the help of ignorant people who choose to judge others based on the curl of their hair. My wearing my hair in locs on an Oscar red carpet was to showcase them in a positive light, to remind people of color that our hair is good enough.”
Zendaya looked beautiful on the carpet so we don’t know what Giuliana Rancic was thinking!
