(CelebNMusic247-News) White House In Hot Seat Over Jay-Z’s New Song Open Letter
Jay-Z’s has taken a very bold leap with his new song, “Open Letter,” which has forced the White House to respond to the track and its affiliation with President Obama.
In the song, Jay mentioned his controversial trip to Cuba and President Obama and now the new song “Open Letter,” apparently warranted a response from the White House, as a press conference was called and White House press secretary Jay Carney was questioned about the reference to Obama.
Carney stressed that, despite lyrics that reference talking to Obama and going to Cuba, the U.S. Treasury Department handle Jay-Z and his wife Beyonce’s situation and there was no communication between the President and rapper about it.
Carney explained:
“I guess nothing rhymes with ‘treasury.’ Because Treasury offers and gives licenses for travel as you know and the White House has nothing to do with it.”
“I am absolutely saying that the White House and the President on down had nothing to do with anybody’s travel to Cuba. That is something that Treasury handles.”
