What’s Up With Pacific Rim 2???

If you were wonder What’s Up With Pacific Rim 2, director Guillermo Del Toro weighed in on the upcoming sequel to the hit film about monster from another dimension.

CelebNMusic247.com has this scoop on the upcoming sequel to Pacific Rim via an interview with Guillermo Del Toro  and Collider, as he provided another update on the status of Pacific Rim 2 and where the sequel will take viewers.

Del Toro who has been a part of Comic Con for over a decade was happy to talk about his upcoming projects like Crimson Peak which opens October 16th, 2015.

Although, when it comes to Pacific Rim 2, Del Toro reveals, when asked “will the sequel will take us deeper into the word of the kaiju”?

He replied:

“I’m already into the third month of design…I have committed to myself to start shooting in November (2015)…It’s up to Universal, but I told them I have to leave to start shooting Pacific Rim.”

Without giving too much detail on the storyline, he continued:

“It’s different from the first one, but if you liked the first one then you will like this one.”

“It’s a [completely] different concept.”

Pacific Rim 2 is set to release of August 4, 2017.

There you have it from Director Guillermo Del Toro who also revealed that he likes to take on the point of view of loss in his films and if you are a fan since the days of Cronos, his breakthrough 1993 horror film then you understand his direction.

Cronos was about a mysterious device designed to provide its owner with eternal life resurfaces after four hundred years, leaving a trail of destruction in its path.

If you love Del Toro’s work you can keep up with him by watching The Strain on FX which kicked of season 2 last Sunday. The Strain airs on FX at 10/9c.

And for all you Hellboy fans, Guillermo will be working on the third installment, Hellboy 3, after he wraps Pacific Rim 2. Ron Perlman and Doug Jones are rumored to reprise their roles as Hellboy and Abe Sapien.

We hope they comeback to the project because the film is nothing without them.
