215-Wendy Williams Warns Lisa Lampanelli-2

Comedian Lisa Lampanelli hit up her Twitter the other night posting a photo of herself and a friend, but she quickly received a HUGE backlash after she wrote:

“Me with my nigga @LenaDunham of @HBOGirls – I love this beyotch!!”

Lampanelli released a statement through the Huffington Post saying that she didn’t mean it in the racial context and that spelling it differently meant that she was referring to the actress as her friend.

Lisa told The Huffington Post:

“I have not been online since Sunday night; I needed a little break after the writer awards. And I’m like, oh there is controversy, perfect.”

“I was at the Writers Guild Awards and Lena Dunham saw me and said, ‘I saw you when I was 15.’ She was so sweet and I swear to you, I’m the biggest fan of ‘Girls’ in the world, and I just tweeted out our picture. And that’s controversial; enjoy people.”

After we pointed out to Lisa that it was her choice of a certain word, rather than the image, that has people talking, Lisa defended what she wrote.

She added:

The N-word ending in ‘er’ is far different context from the word ending in ‘a.’ Ask any person who knows the urban dictionary, it means ‘friend.'”

“And by the way, if I had put the word ending in ‘er,’ that would have been a very derogatory thing about Lena meaning she is less than me, and I view her as very above me. ‘A’ on the end means ‘my friend.'”

Lampanelli continued:

“I’ve played every comedy club and every theatre across the country for the last 25 years and seen a lot of audience members from different ethnic persuasions.”

“I have been using these words since I started in comedy and guess what, people? I won’t stop anytime soon, just because your ass is up on Twitter. I have always used in my act every racial slur there is for Asians, blacks, gays, and Hispanics. To me, it’s acceptable if the joke is funny and if it is said in a context of no hate. It’s about taking the hate out of the word.”

Wendy Williams reported on her friend Lisa using the N-Word and Wendy said on national TV that Lisa better beware. She admitted to be a friend and fan of Lisa’s and that she has a huge black following, but that word is an NOT urban slang of endearment.

Wendy said straight into the camera:

“One day girl, you’re gonna use that word in the wrong was and you’re gonna get someone’s black hand print right across your pretty white face!”

She adds:

“Don’t do it!!!”

“It was a really poor choice…”

We agree with Wendy on this one….The term Nigga does not mean a term of endearment, it is not a cool thing to say when your out with your friends, especially when you’re NOT black…no matter how many black people you know. It’s derogatory and wrong – and people need to really wake up and stop using slanderous slang and trying to justify it by saying it’s “urban slang.” A Nigga is taken from the word Nigger, which was used as a term to define a black man as a slave, however, today’s society has tried to rework the word saying a Nigga is a black man who wears a gold chain, according to the Urban Dictionary.

No matter how you say it, the term is still a diss to anyone who is called a Nigga, because using the N-Word freely is still allowing the terms past to denounce a persons character in black culture and oppress the black community.

Using derogatory slang that crosses the racial slur line is racism and defamation no matter how much people try to glorify it!
