Warren Sapp shouldn’t expect any invitations to the posh Revis Island anytime soon.
The Tampa Tribune reported various reactions from former NFL stars on Darrelle Revis’ recent trade to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. There are some—like John Lynch—who see the move as great for the Bucs, but there was one ready to offer a slightly different opinion.

“He’s selfish and he’s never been a team player. We didn’t win the championship that way. Derrick Brooks and I always cared more about the team than ourselves.”

Lynch, who once played in Tampa, was firmly on Revis’ side, and mentioned this about his own tenure in Denver in the Tribune report.

For his part, the soap opera drama that played out at what seemed to be every Jets offseason continues well after Revis moves franchises. As NFL.com reports, Revis is still flapping his gums in New York’s general direction, proclaiming that the team never really made an effort to keep him.
For the moment, Revis’ vitriol is aimed north and not anywhere near his current team or their front office. According to Sapp, you better enjoy this while it lasts, Tampa Bay.
