Utopia Cancelled After EPIC FAIL!

As if none of us saw this coming but the show that was overly hyped by FOX has been cancelled. If you are thinking Utopia, then you’re right since Utopia Cancelled After EPIC FAIL!

We have one word that describes this show best, BORING!

CelebNMusic247.com has the tea on the costly show which Fox acknowledged that the widely ignored reality series “Utopia” NEEDED to be canceled this weekend because its too expensive and “Utopia” it wasn’t!

On Friday, the final airing of Friday night’s airing only drew about 1.5 million viewers.

Here is what we are hearing:

“Utopia” was an ambitious reality project in which 15 participants were put in a remote location near Santa Clarita, Calif., to build a society from the ground up.

The participants would make up all the rules for governing and behavior.

But the show never caught on, partly because it turned out to be only half a “wilderness” experiment.

Participants were allowed limited contact with the outside world and given a sum of money with which they could purchase, for instance, building materials

There were also complicated rules for “rotating” cast members, with viewers given a limited role in deciding who would stay or go.

Action from the compound was streamed live 24/7, with “highlights” aired twice weekly on the broadcast network.

The failure of “Utopia” is a blow for Fox, which sunk a lot of development money into the project. For filming alone, the network had 129 cameras on the site.

The executive who championed the development of “Utopia,” former Fox Broadcasting Chairman Kevin Reilly, left the network in June — after “Utopia” was already set to go, but by which time there were already concerns it was going to be a swing and a miss.

“Utopia” also represented a shaky start for Simon Andrae, who joined Fox a year ago as executive vice president of alternative programming.

“Utopia” was based on a Dutch reality series where it was a hit, but here in the US it was a dud!

Did you watch? We tried and turned the channel in a matter of minutes, because the series seemed to based on cliches, stereo types and played out storylines. Are culture in the US is city minded and we get it if there was a time that we NEEDED to start over from scratch, but the show failed to display that to us.
