According to reports Jon Jones went MIA after the accident as police were searching for him, but were unable to get in contact with Jones yesterday. Today Jones has decided to do the right thing by turning himself in. He is officially in police custody after turning himself in to law enforcement.

Jones allegedly ran from the scene of an accident in Albuquerque early Sunday morning in a crash that injured a pregnant woman so badly, she had to be hospitalized.

Witnesses including an off-duty officer reported that they saw a man believed to be Jon Jones running from the scene. Police searched the car and found items belonging to Jones as well as marijuana and a marijuana pipe.

A warrant was issued for Jones’ arrest for felony hit and run due to the severity of the victim’s injuries.

Cops say Jones surrendered and was in custody at Bernalillo County Metropolitan Detention Center without incident. Bond was set at $2,500. Jones’ bond was posted and he was released just hours after turning himself in.
