#TylerTheCreator speaks on IGOR going number 1 over FATHER OF ASAHD ?? ? @beats1official
We all know how vocal DJ Khaled has been about NOT getting no. 1 which basically kills his catch phase “no. 1…we the best.” Despite the flack that DJ Khaled has dished to Tyler The Creator the former Odd Future member put in major work on IGOR and it paid off, bottom line.
CelebNMusic247.com reports that DJ Khaled was accused of subliminally dissing Tyler, The Creator in a video when he spoke on landing the number 2 spot for his Father of Asahd album.
DJ Khaled said:
I gotta say this, too. I make albums so people can play it and you actually hear it. You know, drive in the car and you hear another car playin’ it. You know, go to the barbershop and you hear them playin’ it. You know, turn the radio on and you hear them playin’ it. You know, it’s playin’ everywhere. It’s called great music. It’s called albums that you actually hear the songs – not no mysterious sh*t and you never hear it. Pon your dome!
Tyler spoke on his 2015 Cherry Bomb project which many fans of his third solo album passed on.
The “Yonkers” rapper said:
I’m just saying people f—ing hated that f—ing [Cherry Bomb] album. I put [IGOR] out and it [landed at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart], and again, I don’t make s— to be first week or be radio or whatever, but for this work of art and that album cover and these videos and me doing this suit wig thing and having these progressions and this distorted this and that, and these melodies and this stuff like that, beat …
Tyler, the Creator pointed out that even with all of the popular artists DJ Khaled had on Father of Asahd, IGOR just did better and that speaks volumes!
He explains:
This album was work…and this is no disrespect to Khaled or anyone, but this n***a had every person in the industry, everyone on that f***ing album. Everyone. Everyone. Cardi B. 21 Savage. Travis Scott. Post Malone. Beyoncé. Jay. Everyone who sells billions of records and the fact that I beat him with this that isn’t parallel to all the popping music right now was f***ing crazy, bro.
Tyler adds:
It’s work, effort an detail put into this shit…I’m so proud…
