Tyler Perry and Lionsgate Cut Ties

It has been revealed that Tyler Perry has ended his long-running partnership with Lionsgate Studios.

Since the release of of his first hit film Diary of a Mad Black Woman in 2005 Tyler Perry and Lionsgate have been working together. Perry signed a first-look deal with the studio that gave them access to all future projects in 2008.  Now CelebNMusic247.com that Lionsgate has cut ties with Tyler Perry despite their renewal deal with Perry’s 34th Street Films company in March 2011.

It has also been reported that Perry is closing down the Los Angeles office of 34th Street and consolidating its operations at his Atlanta, Georgia headquarters, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

While the business partnership with Lionsgate has ended, Perry is still poised for the release of his last feature with the studio, which will be The Single Moms Club.

The Single Moms Club is set for hit theaters on March 14, which Perry stars in, wrote, and directed.

While working on his own movie projects and OWN television shows, Perry has begun to branch out into acting for other filmmakers.

He will soon be seen on screen in David Fincher’s Gone Girl with Ben Affleck.

Could this be the end of Madea? His last installmet showed that he was tiring of playing her, so maybe this will be a good change for him?
