Tom Holland Is Marvel’s New Spider-Man!!!
Marvel and Sony have spoken and the new Peter Parker has been chosen, he’s NOT gay nor is he black, Tom Holland Is Marvel’s New Spider-Man
You might not know Tom Holland, because his acting resume reads has tsunami movie, The Impossible, which stared Naomi Watts and Ewan McGregor and as a voice that Tom Hardy talked to from his car in Locke.
In 2017, Marvel fans will know who Tom Holland is when he takes on the role of Peter Parker in the upcoming Untitled Spider-Man Reboot set to hit theaters on July 28th, 2017.
CelebNMusic247.com has this report via Collider:
Spider-Man will be directed by Jon Watts, who previously helmed the indie film Cop Car and the horror flick Clown. The movie is a co-production of Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures, which has owned the rights to Spidey since 1999. (Before his standalone film, Spidey will make his debut in next year’s Captain America: Civil War.)
This will be Tom Hollands first introduction as the famed red and blue human spider.
Producer Amy Pascal said in a statement:
“Sony, Marvel, [Marvel Studios chief] Kevin [Feige] and I all knew that for Peter Parker, we had to find a vibrant, talented young actor capable of embodying one of the most well-known characters in the world.”
“With Tom, we’ve found the perfect actor to bring Spider-Man’s story into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.”
Neither of these announcements is particularly surprising. Which is kind of the problem.
Fans were anticipating a change when it came to the Spider-Man reboot, hoping for a fresh change and hopefully a black actor to take on the role since we’ve already had Andrew Garfield and Toby Mcguire (two white dudes). the studio had a chance to shift gears and make the new cinematic Spider-Man not Peter Parker, but Miles Morales—the half-black, half-Latino teenager who wears the Spidey suit in the Ultimate Comics: Spider-Man. Instead of something new, the studio has once again kept the role of Spider-Man white with Tom Holland.
Hopefully this time around, the studio can get creative if they decide to change Spidey again. They could have Mile Morales take over with a passing of the suit in a future version of the Spider-Man reboot. Most likely, it will be around the third or forth installment since the studio probably locked Holland into a three movie deal with appearances in other Marvel films for cross-marketing and expansion of the Marvel Universe.
However, we feel it’s time to introduce Static Shock in the upcoming Spider-Man reboot which will appease fans and adding another dimension to the Spider-Man films. We’ve already seen the same story told two times over and the Andrew Garfield version was going great until the killed Emma Stone, which ENDED the appeal of that franchise.
What do you think?
