(CelebNMusic247 – News) Tara Wallace Talks Gunz Dating and Drama
Tara Wallace dishes on her ex-Peter Gunz, Love & Hip-Hop Drama, And if she’s dating!
As we move closer to the end of a another season of Love & Hip-Hop, a lot of questions remain about Peter Gunz and the two women he’s spent the entire season deceiving, Tara Wallace and Amina Buddafly.
In a very reminiscent version of the LHHA love triangle involving Stevie J, Mimi Faust, and Joseline Hernandez, Peter somehow managed to one-up even Stevie by marrying the other woman (Amina) behind the back of the woman who gave birth to two of his sons and spent thirteen years of her life with (Tara).
Don’t ya just love him America? Isn’t this the type of man you want your daughter to get screwed over by?
Most likely NOT, but unfortunately, Tara and Amina did.
Now The Hip-Hop Socialite, who recaps the hottest celebrity news and gossip of the last week, and drops a few exclusives has another EXCLUSIVE drop:
From the day this messy situation unfolded, I’ve been Team Tara all the way, so I made it a priority to arrange an interview with the Mississippi native. When she and I finally got on the phone, we chatted about what her relationship with Peter was like before Love & Hip-Hop, if she saw any red flags in the relationship between he and Amina prior to filming the show, how her split with Peter has affected their sons, and whether she is dating now that she and Peter are no longer together.
Check out highlights from the interview below:
ON HER RELATIONSHIP WITH PETER BEFORE LOVE & HIP-HOP:
“Before the show, we were functioning as a family. We definitely had our issues; it was definitely things that I was fussing about, but nowhere near us not being together. Whatever the issues were, I kinda thought he was going through something, and that I needed to back off sometimes, or maybe I was being too hard on him, so we weren’t in the best of places, but I had no idea the severity of where we were.”
ON WHEN SHE FOUND OUT AMINA WOULD BE A PART OF THE CAST:
“Well [Peter] had said to me that several of his artists were going to be in the cast. So it wasn’t just Amina, it was Amina, it was another guy that he was working with, it was also a kid that he was managing, so it was supposedly four other people that he was managing that was going to be in the cast when he originally brought it to me. He never said ‘it’s going to be you, me, and Amina.’ It was never a time when it was suppose to be just the three of us.”
ON IF SHE SAW ANY RED FLAGS WITH PETER AND AMINA COMING INTO THE SHOW BASED ON MIMI FAUST’S EXPERIENCE ON LOVE & HIP-HOP ATLANTA:
“Not at all. I was even saying, ‘oh okay, so if it’s going to be all of us, then we should all sit and talk and have a conversation.’ Here I am like kumbaya and everything, you know. I didn’t think it would be any drama at all. In all the people he named that was going to be on the show, I knew all of them. The only person of all the people that I had never had a conversation with was probably Amina, although I had known her and spoken to her and I’ve watched her perform for many years at her job. I just did not know that it would just be the three of us, and so I didn’t think at that time that much of it because I didn’t think there was any drama involved. Especially knowing the relationship even at the time with Amina. and at the time, supposedly, she was dating someone else, so I didn’t even think anything of it.”
ON AMINA BEING IN A RELATIONSHIP WITH SOMEONE OTHER THAN PETER WHEN THEY BEGAN FILMING THE SHOW:
“Yes, as far as I knew [Amina was in a relationship with someone else when they began filming], and they were still kind of going back-and-forth. So that’s kinda the place I was in my head, which is even why when we talk on Instagram, and people go ‘well why didn’t you see those pictures?’ Because as far as I knew, she was still going back-and-forth in her relationship, and her and Peter had just become friends. Now when I saw the pictures, of course I began to question, and I’m like that doesn’t make sense. I ‘m like, wait a minute – what’s going on here?”
ON HER AND PETER’S CHILDREN NOT KNOWING THAT THEY’RE NO LONGER TOGETHER:
“Our children don’t know exactly what’s going on. Our children don’t understand that we’re going through a breakup, so I do bite a bit of the humble pie for the sake of our kids so that we don’t disturb the functionality of the household. But I’m moving to another apartment in the next couple of weeks, and we will not obviously be moving together, so they will know at some point. Very soon I will have to tackle and address this issue with my boys.”
ON AMINA SAYING SHE WANTED TO MEET PETER AND TARA’S SONS:
“I tell Peter all the time, just because you want someone in your life, you’re not going to force them in mine. That’s your choice. You chose her, I didn’t choose her. If you wanted to collectively choose then you should have sat down and said ‘hey, I’m moving on, we need to break up,’ and then say, ‘you know what, I’m thinking about dating,’ and ‘you know I’m dating’. That’s the right way you would do that if you really want a woman to respect that person. The one thing you don’t do is mess around with a woman’s children, and she doesn’t understand that because she doesn’t have children. And then one day perhaps she will, and when she does, then she can say, ‘oh now I get it.’ But if you don’t have children, you don’t understand that. You chose her for yourself, not for our family, and you didn’t choose her for our children. You chose her because that’s what you wanted to do in that moment, and that felt right, and the physical became whatever.”
ON IF SHE’S DATING:
“I’m not dating, but I’m looking forward to it. It’s so funny because I do want to detox from this, and I do want to take the appropriate time it takes to heal, and sometimes, it takes longer than others. But sometimes I do believe, and I’m a huge Iyanla Vanzant fan, in ‘in the meantime’ relationships. Sometimes I think those are important, but it still has to be worth your time. You know I’m 37, and I don’t have time to waste, I don’t have time to lose, so whatever person I meet, I need that person to know who they are and understand who I am, and let’s build from there whether it’s a friendship and we become buddies for the rest of our lives, or we proceed into a relationship. I’m excited about the person that I’m going to meet and be with because I’m in a different place, I know what I want, there’s no more questioning and guessing, there’s no more hoping for the best, although someone may not be showing you their best. It is a me that’s more sure of myself.”
ON IF SHE FEELS A CERTAIN KIND OF WAY TOWARDS THE SHOW’S PRODUCERS BECAUSE OF HOW THINGS CAME OUT ON THE SHOW:
“I don’t feel a certain kind of way, I don’t feel any kind of way. Do people know perhaps certain things before you know them? I’m sure, but that is what makes the show. If anyone I should be mad at it’s the people who are immediately in my life, Peter. He gave them that information and allowed them to use that information, and that’s something that he should’ve told me. So if anyone I’m angry with it would be for, at him, not the producers for doing their job.”
ON IF SHE WOULD DO ANOTHER SEASON OF THE SHOW:
“I would do another season of the show. At this point, people are like, ‘why are you still doing this?’, and ‘you became from the girl to the side chick.’ And I’m like, no, I’m not actually. I didn’t. It is so important to tell the story in its entirety, and I feel as that this story is now…it has to be told, it has to be understood, and it has to be used to help other women. I’m not the only one in this situation. I’m not the only one who’s been with someone who left them or did something crazy. He hasn’t left me rather, he’s done something crazy. I’m not the only woman in this situation, but since I’m now that woman in the situation for the world to see, how do you get over this, and how do you move forward? And I think that’s the important part for me and why I would do another season of the show.”
