Straight Outta Compton Hits $111.5 Million!!!!
When it comes to August blues, there is one film that is turning the frown up side down and that because Straight Outta Compton Hits 111.5 Million.
Everyone wants to know about N.W.A. and the trails and tribulations that followed them over a 10 year span up to Eazy-E’s untimely death in 1995.
CelebNMusic247.com has this report via Deadline:
In a late August weekend littered with three R-rated pictures, the only one audiences wanted to watch was Universal/Legendary’s Straight Outta Compton. The studio reports that the second weekend for the F. Gary Gray film fell 56% with $26.76M and a 10-day cume of $111.5M. The industry sees it a tad higher at $26.8M. Many were expecting Compton to post a second frame that declined between -40% and -50% , but this weekend was hit by August ennui with total movie ticket sales of $102M down by 6% versus the same period a year ago.
Moreover, Compton rose 28% yesterday to $10.6M over Friday’s $8.3M. Compton posted a softer fall between its first Saturday and Sunday last week, surprising everyone. A number of insiders are seeing a 25% decline for the film today from yesterday.

Of course, Suge Knight is NOT pleased how he is seen in the film. Knight claims that he was NEVER violent and NEVER was abusive.
Is he kidding?
No, Knight is claiming that he was completely misportrayed in “Straight Outta Compton,” even though it intertwines with him. He is claiming that he’s not a bad guy, he’s brilliant … so says his lawyer, Tom Mesereau.
[Shaking our heads] Mesereau, who was leaving King’s Road Cafe in West Hollywood Sunday told TMZ photog there’s nothing factual about the flick. He then goes on to describe the virtues of his client, who’s currently in jail on murder charges.
Will Suge get away with MURDER?
Mesereau’s a force to be reckoned with … he won acquittals for both Michael Jackson and Robert Blake.
Obviously Mesereau is going to say that because the film puts Knight’s BTS moments of BLAST so fans of N.W.A. and Dr. Dre can see what they truly had to endure.
Plus, his actions on the Straight Outta Compton set solidifies his actions of anger since Terry Carter was fatally struck by Knight’s truck. Knight is currently in jail awaiting his next court date for the murder of Carter in which he is claiming self-defense.
Whatever!
