CelebNMusic247.com reports that Dee Williams opened up about being gender fluid during a recent interview with Esquire.
Billy Dee Williams, 82, known for his legendary role as Lando Calrissian in the 1980’s Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, recently opened up about how he identifies himself, in terms of his gender.
Williams who is gender fluid said “I think of myself as a relatively colorful character” to Esquire:
I say ‘himself’ and ‘herself,’ because I also see myself as feminine as well as masculine. I’m a very soft person. I’m not afraid to show that side of myself.
He goes on to say:
I never tried to be anything except myself. I think of myself as a relatively colorful character who doesn’t take himself or herself too seriously. And you see I say ‘himself’ and ‘herself,’ because I also see myself as feminine as well as masculine. I’m a very soft person. I’m not afraid to show that side of myself.
The film’s co-writer Jonathan Kasdan told the Huffington Post that Lando Calrissian’s character is “pansexual.”
Kasdan had this to say regarding the two actors’ portrayal of the role of Lando Calrissian in Star Wars said:
There is a fluidity to Donald and Billy Dee’s sexuality.
