Sex and the City star Willie Garson has died. He was only 57. Too young.
On Tuesday, Willie Garson died from a short illness…
CelebnHealth247.com has confirmed that Garson had been suffering from pancreatic cancer, and was surrounded by family at the time of his death.
Willie Garson played fan-favorite Stanford Blatch, the best friend of Sarah Jessica Parker’s Carrie Bradshaw, in HBO’s Sex and the City and its spinoff movies.
He is set to appear in the upcoming reboot, And Just Like That…
A statement released by a spokesperson for HBO/HBO Max, says Garson was a “bright light” for those who were fortunate enough to know him.
Willie Garson was in life, as on-screen, a devoted friend and a bright light for everyone in his universe. He created one of the most beloved characters from the HBO pantheon and was a member of our family for nearly twenty-five years. We are deeply saddened to learn of his passing and extend our sincere condolences to his family and loved ones.
He was photographed on the New York set of the spinoff with Parker, 56, and Mario Cantone, who played Garson’s on-screen husband Anthony Marentino.
Cantone shared a tribute to Garson on Instagram, saying he is “devastated” by his costar’s death.
Mario writes:
I couldn’t have had a more brilliant TV partner. I’m devastated and just overwhelmed with Sadness. Taken away from all of us way soon. You were a gift from the gods’ sweet Willie. Rest …I love you.
RIP Willie
