Salma Hayek Brother Hospitalized
Salma Hayek’s brother has been hospitalized Monday after being involved in a near fatal car crash that killed his passenger over the weekend.
Just before 5 p.m. Sunday on Sunset Boulevard at Mapleton Drive in the Beverly Crest area, Sami Hayek, 40, was involved in the car accident.
CelebNMusic247.com has learned via CBS News that Sami Hayek, a 40-year-old furniture designer, was driving a 2006 Ford GT eastbound when he lost control of his vehicle and collided with a Toyota truck head on. Sami unfortunately crossed into westbound traffic and on impact killed a 43-year-old man from Mexico, who died at the scene after suffering blunt force trauma to his body, according to officials.
As for, Salma Hayek’s brother, he broke several ribs and cut his head in the crash. The 20-year-old driver of the truck sustained a broken foot and was transported to UCLA Medical Center along with Hayek.
It was unclear what caused Hayek to lose control of the sports car.
The crash was under investigation. At this time no charges have been filed.
