Ryan Coogler And Stallone Talk Creed in Featurette!!!

Like many fans of the Rocky franchise including Sylvester Stallone, everyone thought Rocky Balboa was over, but thanks to Fruitvale Station director and visionary Ryan Coogler And Stallone Talk Creed in Featurette.

Following 2006’s Rocky Balboa, moviegoers had thought they had seen the last of the Italian Stallion – and Stallone had even intended that film to cap off the saga. It was Coogler who brought the idea for Creed to Stallone, and the actor was intrigued by the concept. Stallone admits that it’s an angle he never even considered. It was a genius way to rebirth the Rocky franchise but this time audience goers will follow Apollo’s son yet still honoring the Rocky Legacy in its own unique way.

Ryan Coogler explains in the Creed “Generations” Featurette that his father was a huge Rocky movie fan, resisting all the lines of the movie which was the driving force and inspiration to make a movie about Apollo Creed.

What’s your LEGACY … ???

For Coogler it Creed the Rocky franchise spinoff about the next generation boxer, Adonis Creed, son of Rocky Balboa’s (Sylvester Stallone) rival-turned-friend Apollo (Carl Weathers). Creed comes 39 years after the original movie that put Stallone on the map and which won him an Oscar for Best Actor in 1976. Will Creed do the same for Michael B. Jordan, who plays Adonis Creed?

The movie is already getting some series buzz so maybe Ryan Coogler could be one of the directors nominated for an Oscar. The film hits theaters right in time for the Thanksgiving holiday and just in time for Oscar recognition.

In Creed Andonis enlists the help of Rocky as a trainer. This time around Rocky is a supporting player in the narrative (much like Mickey was in the early Rocky installments). That featurette explores the generational aspect of Creed and how the film came into fruition.

In the clip, Coogler talks about his passion for the Rocky series and how it inspired him as an athlete in his youth. Being a die-hard fan of a franchise is not a prerequisite for directing an installment in it, but knowing that Creed comes from the heart is a positive sign for its potential quality.

Take a look at Ryan Coogler And Stallone Talk Creed in CREED Generations Featurette:

Rocky Balboa was a well-received end game that wrapped up the franchise nicely. It’s a bit of a risk to bring it back for another go-around, but Coogler and Stallone both seem confident in the story and its ability to connect with an audience.

We believe with Coogler is the inspiration and love for the Rocky movies is driving force enough to rebirth the Rocky legacy with its own new boxing hero Adonis Creed. The question now remains, since previews have teased a hard-hitting film that takes viewers on an emotional roller coaster, will Creed actually delivers?

We belive that Warner Bros. Creed will be the holiday hit before Star Wars: The Force Awakens takes over the box office in December.

Creed will open in U.S. theaters on November 25th, 2015.
