Rogen & Franco Cancels The Interview NYC Premiere!!!
It’s been dubbed one of the most controversial films to date, but since the Sony hacker attack and the 9/11-style threats Rogen & Franco Cancel The Interview NYC Premiere!
Sorry New York but The Interview has been canceled by Landmark’s Sunshine Cinema.
CelebNMusic247.com has just got word that Seth Rogen and James Franco’s controversial comedy about North Korean leader Kim Jong-un was due to be shown at the cinema tomorrow (September 18), but the event has now been canceled following threats from the ‘Guardians of Peace’ group, which claims to be behind recent hacks affecting Sony Pictures.

In a new statement, the group invokes the 9/11 terror attacks in warning cinemas not to screen The Interview when it opens on Christmas Day in the US.
The Carmike Theater Chain was the first to announce that it will no longer show the movie at its 278 theaters in response to the threats.
US Department of Homeland Security has insisted that there is no evidence of an active terror plot and Sony Pictures is not pulling the film, although it will not object to theaters choosing not to screen The Interview.
The studio could lose at least $100 million if the movie’s theatrical release is scrapped altogether.
Yesterday it was announced that Seth and James decided to cancel The Interview promo tour after the Terrorist threats.
Seth Rogen and James Franco have abruptly canceled their promotional tour for The Interview through the rest of the week, in light of the terrorist threat made this morning.
The duo, which did a long interview with Howard Stern yesterday, have scrapped their planned Wednesday appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon as well as plans to promote their movie on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen and Late Night With Seth Meyers. Most of these they were handling together, but Randall Park, who plays Kim Jong-un in the film, also was going to be part of the mix.
This doesn’t mean they’ve scrapped promotion altogether, but the actors will not be talking about the film this week, for sure.
A spokesman confirmed that they will lay low for now. – via Deadline
In other news about the Sony hack, it has been revealed that the email hack may be an inside job.
You think???
Here is what we’ve learned via TMZ who reports:
Sony execs are now convinced someone who worked for the studio is behind the massive hacking … because no one from the outside could so precisely target the compromising information.
Multiple sources connected to the studio tell TMZ … the strong, prevailing view is that the North Koreans are probably involved, but they used someone with intimate knowledge of the Sony email system to laser in on the most embarrassing information.
We’re told the people at Sony who are investigating believe the hackers had intimate knowledge of mail systems and their configurations. They also believe the hackers have knowledge of the internal media distribution systems and the internal IT systems, including human resources and payroll.
Several people suggested a possible link between the hackers and Sony layoffs, which included a large number of IT employees.
