Chicago jurors on Wednesday convicted R. Kelly on multiple counts. The “I Believe I Can Fly” singer, who is currently serving a 30-year sentence in New York was convicted on six of the 13 counts he faced in his Illinois federal child pornography trial. Get more details since R. Kelly Found Guilty…
CelebnMusic247.com reports that R. Kelly will no longer be flying free, since he was convicted in 2021 of sexually abusing young fans, was found guilty on three counts of child pornography and three counts of child enticement.
R. Kelly, 55, faced 13 total charges, including obstructing justice by paying off a minor victim and witnesses in a Chicago case filed in 2002, producing and receiving child pornography, and coercing minors into engaging in illegal sexual activity.
Prosecutor Jeannice Appenteng said in her closing statement on Tuesday:
Ladies and gentlemen, what R. Kelly wanted was to have sex with young girls.
The jury (which consisting of four white women, three Black women, three white men, and two Black men) began deliberating shortly after 1 p.m. on Tuesday after watching portions of an explicit video in which one of Kelly’s accusers, Jane, said she was 14 at the time it was recorded.
Though, Kellz was ultimately convicted on the child pornography counts he faced, he was acquitted on 7 other counts — including charges of conspiracy and enticement.
In 2008, Kelly was acquitted of 21 counts of child pornography after he allegedly conspired to falsify material and pay off victims and other witnesses in the case. The first victim mentioned in the case, “Minor 1,” was no older than 14 when Kelly allegedly filmed himself having sex with her, according to federal court documents.
Now 30 years old, “Minor 1” testified in the federal trial.
Kelly’s former business manager Derrel McDavid and former assistant Milton “June” Brown
Kelly’s associates, Derrel McDavid and Milton Brown, are also named in the lawsuit for allegedly conspiring to help Kelly quash the abuse allegations against the “Ignition” singer.
His former business manager Derrel McDavid and former assistant Milton “June” Brown are being tried alongside him. They both are accused of scheming with R. Kelly to buy back incriminating sex tapes to help cover up his sex crimes and rig his 2008 child pornography trial in Cook County, in which Kelly was acquitted.
Like Kelly they too did not testify in court.
Minor 1, who first met Kelly in the 1990s at his recording studio with her aunt when she was a junior in high school, allegedly told her parents that Kelly was going to become her godfather.
Kelly was accused of paying off both Minor 1 and her parents — one of whom testified in the 2008 trial.
Robert Kelly will not be eligible for release until his is 80 years old. His sentencing for the Chicago trial will come at a later date. Basically, we will see if he tries to appeal this or if he will be offered another plea deal.
Hopefully, if he is smart this time, he will take the deal, because he is going to be in prison for 25 years. That is a large amount of time especially when you only live once.
It has been reported that Kelly believes he is above the law and will be forgiven for his sex crimes. He is either really stupid, or he thinks he can win even though he is guilty. His victims will be getting their wishes…
