CelebNMusic247.com reports that prosecutors charged Kelly with four counts of aggravated criminal sexual assault, two counts of criminal sexual assault by force, two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse and three counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse against a victim between 13 and 16 years old.
R. Kelly Attorney Clarifies that the reports being circulated in the media are misinformed reports and untrue.
If proven guilty then Kelly is facing a maximum sentence of 30 years in prison since some of the charges are extreme.
R. Kelly Attorney, Steve Greenberg, chimed in on Twitter to clarify that Kelly had not been charged in a new case but recharged in an existing case.
Greenberg said:
#RKelly was NOT charged with a new case. He was recharged in an existing case, same alleged victim and time (a decade ago) It changes nothing
He adds:
#RKelly These are the same conduct, just charged differently, the same alleged victim, same time frame, same facts. We expect the same results.
According to Steve Greenberg, the media has their reports all wrong.
